The Case
A newborn male infant presents with a facial mass. (Figure 1)
On the right side of the face, a mass starts at the zygomatic bone, below the right eye, and covers the whole cheek.
A cystic mass, including intensive septations and internal echoes and arteriovenous structures in the septations.

Prenatal History
Mother: 19-year-old gravida 1 para 1
No systemic illness
No drug use
No consanguinity of mother and father
Birth History
Gestational age: 39 weeks
Cesarean delivery because of the fetal facial mass
Birthweight: 3,444 g (50th percentile)
Length: 49 cm (50th percentile)
Head circumference: 34 cm (50th percentile)
Apgar scores: 9 and 10 at 1 and 5 minutes, respectively
On the right side of his face, the infant has a mass starting at the zygomatic
bone, below the right eye, and covering the whole cheek, as shown in Figure 1.
Case Progression
Physical Examination
Moro and sucking reflexes: Good
Head and neck: Anterior fontanelle 2 × 2 cm; on the right of the face, a nonrigid, septated, cystic mass without color difference starts at the zygomatic bone, below the right eye, and covers the whole cheek. (Figure 1)
Respiratory system: Normal
Cardiovascular system: Normal S1 and S2; no tachycardia, no murmur, …
